EONI delivers different kinds of DSL. The main two are called ADSL and SDSL. In each case, there are two components:
ADSL - This stands for Asymmetric DSL, and the download and upload speeds are usually different. Typically the download speed is several times faster than the upload speed. This type of DSL is usually provided over an existing telephone line to your location; it "shares" the telephone line service with a voice quality line. Speeds described with ADSL service are the maximum speeds your line may achieve. the actual speed will vary depending on line quality, distance factors, and other external factors.
SDSL - This stands for Symmetric DSL. The download and upload speeds are the same, or symmetric. It requires a separate and specially ordered telephone circuit dedicated to SDSL services; it is not the same as an ordinary telephone line. The connection speed delivered to your location is a guaranteed connection rate.
