Outlook Express often has security settings that block attachments. To tell Outlook Express to allow you to open attachments:
Open Outlook Express Click TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> SECURITY , under "Virus protection" uncheck the box that says "Do not allow attachments to be opened......", click "apply", then "ok".
