Q: Can I use my favorite email software with the email filtering service or do I have to use EONI Web Mail?
A:
You can use both.
If you prefer to use email software (Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail, Outlook, Outlook Express, etc) on your computer to read, reply, and send new email you can. The email filtering service works well with your existing email. There is nothing to install on your computer to use the EONI email filtering service.
Some email settings can be adjusted by you by going to EONI Web Mail and logging in. Then click "Spam settings" in the left hand column near the bottom.
The EONI Web Mail can also be used when you away from your computer that has your email software installed on it. You can use the Web Mail to read, reply, delete and compose new messages before the messages are received by your email software installed on your personal computer.
Address books and other settings you have set in your email software will not appear in EONI Web Mail. Messages already downloaded to your computer may not appear in the webmail depending on your computer's email settings. Please feel free to ask an EONI support technician for help if you need to determine if messages on your computer will be accessible via webmail.
