Q: How do I use the white list (trusted senders) and black list (blocked senders) in the email filtering service?
A: You can make the EONI email filtering service work better by using the white list (trusted senders) and black list (blocked senders) tools.

By adding email addresses or entire email domain names to your personal white list you are pre-approving these email addresses to send you email. This prevents these messages from being identified as unwanted messages.

Avoid adding an entire domain name such as hotmail.com. You may have a several friends with hotmail.com email addresses, however you should only white list their specific email addresses and not all of hotmail.com because many people have email addresses at hotmail.com that you do not want to receive email from. However, if you do business with a specific company and receive email from several different email addresses within that company you may find it useful to add the domain name of that company to your white list.

The black list is used to designate email addresses you never want to receive email from. The black list can be effective in blocking email from parties that always send email from the same email address and refuse to take your name off their email mailing list. The black list is not effective in blocking senders who change their email addresses frequently. Many unwanted email senders change their email address so often you would spend too much time adding those senders to your block list.

To access the white list and black list:
use your web browser to go to the eoni.com home page and click web mail at the top left of the page or

Next, enter your email address and password for your email account and click "login".

After you login click "Spam Settings" at the bottom of the left column.

Then, in the middle of the screen you will see several settings for your email account. Click on "From: Whitelist" or "From: blacklist" to adjust your lists of allowed or denied senders.
