Q: I can?t save my password in the dialup box (DialUp Networking, or DUN).
A: If your "Save Password" box is grayed out and not available, first go to the Control Panel and then double-click Network. See if you have Client for Microsoft Networks installed as one of the network components, along with TCP, etc. If not, you will need to Add this. Click on Add, then double-click Client and then Microsoft on the left, and then Client for MS Networks.

Once you have this done (just follow the directions), you will be asked to reboot. When your computer restarts, it should ask for a username and password. Enter your username as the username BUT LEAVE THE PASSWORD BLANK! LEAVE IT BLANK WHEN IT ASKS TO CONFIRM THE PASSWORD. You need to do it this way, or every time you start Windows you will need to enter your password.

Now, when you start the connection to us, it should allow you to save the password. If it does not, proceed on to the next step.

If the above fails or the Save Password box is available but won't save your password, go to the Start button, then Find, and find: *.pwl. When it finds this, right-click on it, and rename it. Then restart windows. Note that if you already had Client for MS Windows installed you will now be asked to re-enter your username and password. This time, enter your username as the username but again, LEAVE THE PASSWORD FIELDS BLANK. (In computer terms, this is known as entering a "null" password) Hopefully now you will be able to save your password each time you logon.
